San Dieguito River Park Hosts “Day At The Races” Fundraiser August 30th

 

Please join the San Dieguito River Park for a day of fun at the Del Mar Racetrack on Saturday, August 30th.  The ticket price of $50 includes admission, a full course Cabana BBQ lunch, tips on handicapping from experts, and private trackside seating!  All of the proceeds of this event go to the San Dieguito River Park and the money is to be used to build a viewing platform on the Coast to Crest Trail in the Del Dios Gorge area.  From the viewing platform, trail users will get a great view of the Lake Hodges Dam.  There will be seating, a telescope, and an interpretive sign about the history of the Dam.  Almost 62%, or 45,00 acres, of the River Park was affected by the Witch Creek Fire and we have been making steady progress toward recovery – many of the trails have been reopened and volunteer work projects (every second Sunday and third Saturday of each month from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.) have been of great benefit to habitat restoration.  If you enjoy hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding, come out and support this vast open space park.  This is the first fundraiser to help out with trail amenities – you can stay and play in your own backyard!  Buy your tickets online by going to www.sdrp.org.  Or send for your tickets to:  The San Dieguito River Park, 14103 Highland Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92025.  $30 of each ticket is tax deductible.  We’re betting you’ll help and have a great time!
