Bring your appetites and curiosity to the Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead and the San Diego Archaeological Center on Saturday, October 13th! Learn how to use the premier tool for cooking over an open fire: the Dutch oven! We'll have cooks who will share their expertise and creations with participants in the morning at Sikes Adobe, and in the afternoon at the Center. Sample main dishes, breads, desserts and wines! Take home recipe booklets provided by our event cooks. Learn about the historic use of the ingredients, any of which could have been used in the San Pasqual Valley of the 1880s. Purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Dutch oven! Proceeds from this event support the missions of each cultural institution.

Troop 649 of Escondido will perform a flag raising ceremony at Sikes Adobe.
