Going Fast to the First 2,400!
"Donate a Plank" and you'll be part of the legacy too.

June 2, 2007 was the kickoff for the Del Mar Rotary/San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy "Donate A Plank" Fundraiser. There are 2,400 planks on the brand new San Dieguito coastal boardwalk. Each person who "donates" a plank for $100 will have a plaque in the name of his or her choosing placed on that plank. Each plaque is numbered so that you can find it and show it to your friends, to encourage them to donate a plank as well. But remember, there are only 2,400 planks - after they've been purchased there will be no more chances to put your name on this special project in this special place.

Below, Bob Fuchs, Del Mar Rotary Club, describes the "Donate a Plank" Fundraiser Project. Proceeds go to the San Dieguito River Park to install interpretive signage along the coastal trail, extend the trail and restore wetlands. Call the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy at 858 755-6956 (or go to www.sdrvc.org) to donate your plank!

Below, some folks are enjoying the interpretive signs found along the new boardwalk. More are planned and will be installed as funds are raised.

And others are just enjoying the fresh air and exercise on the new 1200 foot long boardwalk.
Don't forget to call the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy at 858 755-6956 to donate your plank!
