Lagoon Trail
Lagoon Trail - The Lagoon Trail project consists of 8 segments, totaling about 2 miles. (click on the graphic below for a larger view). Segments 6 through 8 will accommodate hikers, bicyclists and equestrians. Segments 2-5 will accommodate hikers and bicyclists.
Segments 1a & 1b (the Boardwalk) are for pedestrians only.
Segments 1a and 1b are referred to as the "Boardwalk" section. For more information on the Boardwalk, click here.
Segment 5 is an existing maintenance road. Segment 2 and 3 were built with the assistance of the 22nd District Agricultural Association and the Del Mar Rotary. Segments 4a, 4b and 4c, in Caltrans right-of-way will be built
by a contractor. Bids were opened on September 19, 2007, and the contract was awarded on September 21st to the low bidder,
R.J. Bullard Construction. Construction is expected to begin in October and be finished in Fall of 2008.
The R.J. Bullard contract also includes Segment 6 and the Water Quality Treatment Ponds. For more information on the Treatment Ponds, please click here.
