PAMO VALLEY

Within the San Dieguito River Park, Pamo Valley is owned by the City of San Diego Water Department. The east and west slopes of the valley are part of the Cleveland National Forest. A major 12-mile-long section of the Coast to Crest Trail is planned to extend through Pamo Valley. It will consist of the existing Lower Santa Ysabel Truck Trail (3.4 miles from Boden Canyon to Pamo Road), the existing Upper Santa Ysabel Truck Trail (6 miles from Pamo Road to Lake Sutherland) and a 3 mile section paralleling Pamo Road. As of Fall 2008 the San Dieguito River Park is working with the City of San Diego to obtain permission to construct the Pamo Road trail segment.
