To see how the Sikes Adobe Farmhouse appeared before the fire, and learn more about its historic significance, click here. The house consisted of one adobe room (circa 1870), with the remaining rooms made of wood (circa 1880). It had a large wrap around veranda on the south. Following the fire the wood frame addition is completely gone, with only the original adobe walls remaining. The windmill installed by the Escondido and Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary Clubs in 2005 is still standing, as well as the Eagle Scout-built entry kiosk made of adobe.
