Through research into the ancestors of Zenas Sikes, who helped found the farming community of Bernardo and ushered in the first generation of commercial agriculture in North San Diego County, the De Anza Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) found that his forefathers had served in the American Revolution. The De Anza Chapter DAR has made a plaque to commemorate the Sikes Adobe and the influence the Sikes family had on the development of early San Diego.
Please join the San Dieguito River Park and the De Anza Chapter DAR in celebrating the completion of this historical marker for Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 11:00 AM and will include light refreshments and tours of the house.
