The Trails Fund is used for purchasing trail easements; planning and designing trails; and purchasing tools, equipment or labor for construction and maintenance of trails. Over 70 miles of linear trails are planned from Del Mar to Volcan Mountain. The trails system will significantly contribute to the lives of the thousands of people who live, work in, and visit San Diego and who will use these trails for outdoor exercise, enjoyment, and nature education. If you would like to donate in this way, please contact us.
Donate a Plank Program
For $300, you can add a plaque to the San Dieguito Lagoon Boardwalk in the name or text of your choice. Each plaque is numbered so that you can easily find it and show it to your friends. Proceeds go to the River Park to install interpretive signage along the Coast to Crest Trail at the San Dieguito Lagoon, to extend the trail, and to restore wetland habitat. Visit the Boardwalk Planks page for more information.
Endowment Fund
Through the kindness of Russell and Lydia Hogan, the Park received a bequest which was used to establish an endowment fund to help ensure the future of the San Dieguito River Park. There are many ways you can use Estate Planning to direct your giving toward the goals you care about, while at the same time minimizing the taxes on the estate you pass to your heirs. If you would like to donate in this way, please contact us.
Land Trust Fund
The Land Trust Fund is used for contributions of land, scenic, and conservation easements and structures of cultural or historic significance within the River Park’s planning area. Examples of areas that groups and individuals have worked to acquire include Rutherford Ranch, Boden Canyon, and Lake Sutherland East. If you would like to donate in this way, please contact us.
Coastal Cactus Wren Stepping Stone Fund
The long term survival and health of the River Park’s Coastal Cactus Wren population on Bernardo Mountain requires a connection to the cactus wren in San Pasqual Valley. The Bernardo Mountain population is isolated and struggling. Using a stepping stone approach to connecting the habitat, these funds will be used to better determine and document the locations of the restoration sites, secure permission, and install and maintain cactus scrub. If you would like to donate in this way, please contact us.

We encourage you to become a supporting member of the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy. Your membership fee will support both the River Park’s operations and the Conservancy’s outreach and land acquisition efforts.
