The first San Dieguito Lagoon Bird Survey results for 2015 are in. Of note, 6 Western Snowy Plovers were seen. According to the bird survey leader, Jayne Lesley, “The Snowy Plovers are a new species for our cumulative total. Though they have roosted, and even nested on the beach in years past, this is their first appearance on our count.” This brings the cumulative species total to 224.
