The San Dieguito Monthly Bird Count identified 107 species in October. No new bird species were seen, so the cumulative species total remains at 242. Click here for the PDF document with the detailed monthly results through October 2018.

The featured image of a female and male California Quail was taken at the San Dieguito Lagoon in September 2018 by SDRP Trail Patrol Volunteer Ginni Kitchen. These birds are residents, and we have been observing a covey of quail all through summer at the Birdwing Open Air Classroom.
