Despite the sauna-like conditions, we still managed to tally 101 species, including one new species, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Area 3, bringing our cumulative total to 263. Great job, everyone! Species of note included a new one, Lesser Nighthawk in area 1. This brings the overall cumulative total to 261. In addition, we observed a Black-chinned Hummingbird in Area 1; as well as at least 1 Tricolored Blackbird, and two American Robins in Area 2, species we don’t see that often. We had a great count this month of 121 species, including 2 new ones. Vesper Sparrow was seen in Area 3, and Acorn Woodpecker was found in Area 5. This brings our cumulative total to 251 species!
