The San Dieguito Monthly Bird Count identified 111 species in April. No new bird species were seen, so the cumulative total remains at 234. Click here for the PDF document with the detailed monthly results through April 2017.
According to bird count leader Jayne Lesley, some noteworthy birds were 2 male Yellow-headed Blackbirds, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, Horned Larks, an Ash-throated Flycatcher, Pacific-slope Flycatchers, Least Bell’s Vireos, Bullock’s Orioles, and a Western Tanager.
