Coast to Crest Trail Named One of Best in County!

A San Diego Union-Tribune guide names the Coast to Crest Trail as one of thirteen best hikes in San Diego County!

(San Diego Untion-Tribune, August 11, 2022)

Why? Here are some of the reasons San Dieguito River Park’s regional multi-use trail is considered one of the best:

“One: It feels like a good accomplishment; you can section hike it and eventually join all of the sections from Del Mar at the Pacific Ocean all the way out to near Julian. Forty-nine of the 71 planned miles are currently complete.

Two: The section along the north shore of Lake Hodges is really pretty and relaxing because you see the blue lake waters, green grasses and shady trees in springtime.

Three: The sections out in Ramona, both along Pamo Road\’s rolling ranchlands and the creek, are lovely, easy walks. Both are accessible from the large new parking lot at Orosco Ridge.

Four: The trail is well marked at many parking areas with distances to milestones ahead of and behind you, so you can choose which way and how far you want to hike that day.”

– Jody Stell, chapter outing leader at the Sierra Club San Diego Chapter
