Palomar Audubon Society Trip Leader Jim Beckman guides birders through San Pasqual Valley in early spring, and the list of bird species seen is posted on the PAS website. SDRP has compiled the lists from 2014-2019 into a PDF document.
45 bird species were seen this year, and 2 of them were new: Snowy Egret and Bald Eagle. Like last year, neither of these species are considered rare, but they just have not been seen during the previous five bird walks. This brings the cumulative total to 88 different species of birds seen over the six years.
The featured image of a Bald Eagle was taken at Lake Hodges in April 2017 by SDRP Trail Patrol Volunteer Pat Ray.
